See your page in Google before you publish
Your title and meta description are the first thing people see in Google. If they are too long, Google cuts them off with "…"; if they are too short, you waste space that could earn the click. This tool shows a live Google-style preview while you type and measures the real pixel width Google uses, not just characters.
Keep it under about 600 pixels, which is roughly 50–60 characters. Put the main keyword near the start.
Around 120–158 characters on desktop. Write it like an ad: what the page offers and why to click.
Not always. Google may rewrite it to match the search, but a clear, relevant description is used most of the time.
